Another deload week and looking forward to my next cycle so I am working on some deficiencies on my upper body lifts while the weights are light. I will be adding extra weight to the right side of the bar in an attempt to clear up some imbalances. I also plan on doing the extra 5×10 lifts and accessory workouts this week.

Monday 8/17/2015 – Squat

225×5
225×5
225×5

This went pretty well with no real issues. I was a bit short on time so I did leg curl accessories and skipped my 5×10 squats. So much for my commitment.

Tuesday 8/18/2015 – Bench

160×5
160×5
160×5

I added 5 lbs to the right side and lifted so really 165 but off balance. It felt a bit odd to lift but certainly felt it in the right side but kept the right and left at the same height during the lift. Did my 5×10 and my dumbbell rows. Felt the burn today for sure.

Wednesday 8/19/2015 – Swimming

Normally a rest day but felt like getting in the water. Swam laps and sat in the hot tub for a nice and relaxing morning. I might do this more often.

Thursday 8/20/2015 – Press

105×5
105×5
105×5

Same thing as Tuesday, added 5 lbs to the right side of the bar. This was a lot harder than the bench press to keep this up. Kept the weight on 3 of the 5×10 but the last two I had to level the bar. The 4th set felt so strange like the left side was empty. Fifth set felt great. Did pullups to a greater or lesser extent 25 or 30 of the 50, I think I forgot to record a set.

Friday 8/21/2015 – Deadlift

280×5
280×5
280×5

Nothing eventful today, good solid deload lifts. I did try to lift sumo style on the first warmup set and it felt awkward. I probably should have done one or two warmup sets and then switched just to get a feel for the weights. Did 5×10 and GHD work for accessories.

Went golfing 18 holes at The Ridge at Castle Pines North after work. I suck at golf but it was a nice distraction on a beautiful course and I got a great walk in.

Next week is going to be interesting because the reps are going to be sky high, 8-11 if I want to get PR’s. As I have said before I will take what comes and not try to outdo myself and aim to reach my 3/4/5 plate goal.
